Kirwan Inter B League - End of March
The bad news is that Jerry Murphy’s Donabate team has had to withdraw from the league as they are unable to fulfill their outstanding fixtures before the league ends in May. They had only played one match - their round 1 game against Vernon which Vernon had won. Unfortunately for Vernon, that result no longer counts. But the good news is that all our matches are now up to date, Rounds 1 to 5 are complete and we even have one result in from Round 6.
The Round 5 results are as follows:

And Round 6 results are as follows:

This leaves the league positions as follows:

Only one VP separates Malahide and Catherine McManus’s Glasnevin team at the top with Clontarf hot on their heels. Vernon still has an outside chance to shake up the top 3, but first they will have to overcome the two remaining Donabate teams.
Catherine’s team are due to play their last match this week, so this will give the chasing pack a clear target to aim for.
Round 7 is due to be completed by 12th May. The crunch match could well be that between Clontarf and Malahide and then all will be revealed.

Please make sure that you all have the 18th May in your diaries. We will be holding the Kirwan League Award Ceremony in Sutton Golf Club at 18.00. This will consist of a dinner and presentation of prizes followed by a game of bridge. All team participants are invited to the ceremony and the great news is that you are all guests of DNR.
Good luck to you all in the remaining matches.
Dan.
